Thanks Michael for posting this video on facebook: showing the confusion where the Highland Creek Bikeway meets Old Kingston Road. When headed east from Guildwood GO station, turn left, up, Old Kingston Road to cross the bridge/overpass over the creek. The trail continues east on the north side of the bridge.
I did the ride from Guildwood Station through the Highland Creek Ravine. It was good, but I got confused and rode around in circles where the trail surfaces at Old Kingston Road.
The City needs to put up signs directing people to the spot where the trail begins again, a little further northeast up Old Kingston Road.
Cycling on Brock St. in Whitby is fine - south of / below the 401, to and from the GO station and the Waterfront Trail - caution on the overpass; best use the west sidewalk. Cycling north from the 401 is another story. Do so if you must, with extreme caution.
Hi - I just found out about your website and would like to have participated in the July 14 ride. Is this info made available or are you just providing the trip info and not organizing actual attendees?
St. Catharines will be added soon, as the end point for a ride up the Welland Canal from Port Colborne. Bikesandtransit.com's Niagara "Bike Wine Route" starts in Grimsby and goes through some beautiful wine country, up the escarpment, and west to Hamilton and Burlington.
With the end of October approaching, it's getting quite cool down by the Lake. There's still some pretty warm bike rides however down on the ravine bike paths of the Humber Valley (TTC subway), Don Valley (TTC subway) and Highland Creek (GO Train).
Check it out - you can get off the bus in Grimsby, and ride a new Bike Wine Route following the 'Niagara Region Bicycling Map' safely to the greenbelt between Grimsby and Beamsville - 7 wineries and 1 juice maker within hardly a kilometre and a half - www.tinyurl.com/grimsby2010 - and one of the least steep ways to bike up the Niagara Escarpment!
Heard they built a jojoba oil farm near there too. Amazing!

Due to construction, the Don Valley trailhead at the top of Cherry Street is blocked. Access the trail just west at the foot of Parliament.
Thanks for your question AMN:

Why is St. Catharines not mentioned in this site, as to the stop and the wineries and trails that can be accessed by bike from that stop? AMN

We've got photos from the bike ride between Grimsby and Hamilton along the Niagara Escarpment and Dofasco Trail - http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=27752&id=1185333252&l=8e48910a2e
Please expect some delays from Toronto to Grimsby due to construction on the Gardiner Expressway West.

Watch out for sand on the Don Valley bike path. The rainy summer has risen the river a few times. It's best to keep your speed down.
