What to Bring
A great way to "go inter-modal" is with a carry-all shopping bag in your front or side bike basket - on transit, or for lunch or exploring on foot, just secure your bike and carry your belongings with you.
A handlebar bag, with map holder - and to carry your tools - is also very useful. At times bike lane, bikeway and bike trail map following can take a lot of your attention.
Here's what you'll need for the best bikes and transit daytrip ever... yes, ever!
- your bike, sorry no bicycle trailers
- a bike helmet
- a clean Tshirt - to change into for the air conditioned transit ride home
- tools, tube, patch kit, pump
- cycling and transit map(s)
- credit card - for automated transit ticket tellers
- picnic lunch/supper
- water, sunscreen, snacks
- bathing suit and towel - for swimming or sunbathing!
- cell phone - to call, text and send photos from the trail
- digital camera - to post your photos afterwards in the Bikes+Transit Club on Facebook!
