Hamilton offers a great variety of biking daytrips. From Burlington's Aldershot GO train station, the ride is less than 10 km to Hamilton's historic Dundurn Castle. Then down the bike stairs on York Blvd. and you're on your way along the shores of Hamilton Harbour. Shop downtown by transferring to a GO or HSR Bus. Ride the Trans Canada Trail rail trail (to Brantford!) from the GO Bus stop at McMaster University.
Recommended for all casual riders, all ages (some bike lanes are alongside high speed traffic) - the Hamilton Bike Routes, Trails & Parks (pdf) map is very helpful to stay safe and get the most out of these sample routes. Here are the GO Transit System Map and Service Schedules. (Garmin GPS downloads - coming soon - below). Click here to see the Train Track from Toronto to Burlington in Google Maps.
