With bike racks now on every GO Bus, you can enjoy a ride this summer anywhere the GO Bus can take you, and your bike... start from Newcastle in the east, or Beaverton to the north. Go shopping westward by bike in Guelph, or southward for a visit to Beamsville, Grimsby or Stoney Creek!
* Please note: New bike lanes on lower Yonge St - at the east end of the GO Bus terminal at Union Station - connect to the south Waterfront Trail.

ABERFOYLE to BURLINGTON + GO Bus
The greenbelt between Aberfoyle and Burlington is horse country, and the biking wonderful. And exciting, especially for the 20 seconds you ascend (about 60 kms per hour) down the Niagara Escarpment on your way to the GO Train. From just above the 401, ride south on the Lafarge Trail and Middleton Rd. toward Aldershot GO station. East on Harvest Rd. and down Snake Rd. to downtown Dundas, and Waterford Rd. south to the train.
Bike Route Maps:
- Google Maps (coming soon...): Aberforyle GO Bus 'Park 'n Ride'
- Hamilton Bike Routes, Trails & Parks
- Burlington Cycling Map pdf
Route Notes:
- Weekdays only - suggested for adults only. Be sure to talk to the driver about where you're headed to make sure you're on the bus that transfers to Aberfoyle at Meadowvale GO train station.
- Take the GO Bus #21 (Milton) from the GO Bus Terminal at Union Station, transfer at Meadowview to Bus #29 (U of Guelph) to the Aberfoyle 'park n ride'.
- Cycle west, south, then east to the Lafarge Trail, and a choice from there to see the farms of Flamborough (to Aldershot station), or Mount Nemo from the east (to Appleby station).
- CAUTION: From the GO Bus stop at Aberfoyle, take Maclean Rd. west only, past quarries (watch for gravel trucks!) to 2nd Concession (asphalt), then Wellington Rd. 35 south to ore Rd. Highway 6 should be avoided, or walk your bike on the wide shoulder, far away from the high speed traffic.
- The Hamilton Bike Routes, Trails & Parks bike map is best to show you the way to Aldershot station. The Burlington Cycling Map (pdf) is best to get you to Appleby. Both routes take you through urban areas with traffic.
